Hi Kathleen,
I found your page refreshing, honest, and informative, Keep it up. I love t.v. shows like " so you think you can dance ". because I get inspired by the dancers' passion and dedication. You seem to have that too, so I am sure you will attract the right people.
I have only had my blog up a few weeks, am getting daily hits, but am grappling with trying to get the right feel like yours. Seems to be a tricky balance between looking professional and being casual and down to earth. My biggest handicap is minimal sales and marketing skill.
Anyway, I am currently writing daily posts and articles on Motivation, and then my second e-book.
I love the concept of sharing, because it benefits everyone, so hopefully I will get emails eventually, and then maybe start a forum.
I haven't yet looked at all your website, but will do so tomorrow, as it's nearly midnight here in Australia.
I have one special favour to ask you - One of my key resources and strategy, is my " peak performance " or balancing music. It can also be useful for motivation, because as you listen to it, it increases your lateral thinking. I put my headphones on when I write articles, and ideas just keep flowing without effort.
If I send you a free copy, ( worth $70 ), would you like to test it and see what you think -as far as motivation.
I have had no problem selling them to students, therapists etc on street level, but don't have the time or money for advertising.
If you don't want to, that is fine also, because I don't like forcing people to do anything.
Sincerely,
Tom.

Hi Kathleen,

Thank you for expressing what keeps you motivated to blog. I have had this trouble before too as I am sure many others do. Let me add my thoughts.

1) One thing I like to do is look at the current trends and somehow work those into my posts so then it hits home with a lot of people, increases your chance to get comments and traffic.

2) Checking my analytics. I like to see progress in my traffic.. The more people I have coming to read and comment the more motivation I get.

3) Like you mentioned reading other inspirational blogs. Thank you for the list you provided I will check them out. My favorite at the moment is SelfMadeMiracle. In fact today they posted a great article on glossary of motivation which was how I discovered your blog actually. I think you would like this one too.

4) You are a great writer, don't ever stop. You've just gained yourself a new reader, cause for motivation :)

"Getting inspiration from other people" - I think this is key. If you stay inspired, you will find that motivation seems to come easy. Just keep your ears open and you'll never run out of things to write about.

Cas, thank you very much for this recommendation.

My cursory perusal of Cory Doctorow's article suggests it contains lots of useful & inspiring content. I'm sure some of it will feature here in the near-future, in one form or another... watch this space!
