Desert Sands (poem)
Desert sands,
They chafe my skin.
Exfoliating deadness away,
Cleansing…
In a whirlwind of fire,
Stealing my soul,
Scorching my body,
And tearing my heart.
Hot beneath my feet,
Slowly I’m sinking…
Dancing beneath the stars,
I feel the sickly pain.
Always I am thinking of you,
My heart longs to join yours.
My body yearns to follow you,
My soul needs to be with you.
As I leave these sands behind,
Some memories slip away,
But I remember the thoughts I had of you,
Alone with your smiles on the desert sands.
