On a related note, I've completely re-written my About page - spent the best part of my weekend doing that and I'm really happy with the result. I've added pictures, more information and a much improved structure. Do let me know what you think.
Self-knowledge
I've always valued self-awareness. Lately I haven't been doing a very good job of knowing myself, although I still valued self-knowledge highly as was evident ...

On Monday, studying began in earnest. I saw my tutor, armed myself with a comprehensive booklist (well, a jolly good start anyway) and headed off to the library.
Books, to borrow or buy - coming soon
I'm going to start my own online library & book sale, incidentally. Partly because I've just acquired (more) free books and partly because I'm in charge of organising a book sale for my department. ...

Questions from Booking Through Thursday's October meme entries.
26 Oct: Do you make notes in books as you read them? Why or why not? If you do, do you make notes only in certain kinds of books or all of them?
Yes, sometimes. Only in pencil and only in books I own. Usually only if the book is not new though - for this reason I much prefer pre-owned/second-hand books ...

Spaghetti House has an extensive menu (more choices than on their website), which is terrible if you're indecisive like I am! I did manage to choose eventually though.
It's really quite expensive, I think the main courses average at £10; but well worth it. You won't need a starter; really - the main course servings are absolutely massive.
I ordered the most amazing penne dish, with chillies, buffalo mozzarella and ...

I'm considering compiling a dictionary of terms I ought to know, like 'logical positivism'. Would you be interested in it? Would you pay for it, even? Or should I make it free?
Let me know your thoughts either way by leaving a comment please, thanks.

On Saturday, I mentioned a method, which I thought might help me to achieve my goals - CVS to BVS (Current View of Situation to Better View of Situation); I want to be:
Independently wealthy, successful businesswoman (EthicalBeads.com)
Seamlessly & effortlessly balancing my work, study & social lives
Happy & healthy
FREE (i.e. no longer living with my parents)
CVS to BVS (Current View of Situation to Better View of Situation)
The main thrust ...

No matter how self-aware, how happy you are with your life, locale, and person, there is always room for improvement. What do you want to change? What, who, where, when, or how do you wish you were...?
I Wish I Were...
Independently wealthy, successful businesswoman (EthicalBeads.com); seamlessly & effortlessly balancing my work, study & social lives, happy & healthy and finally FREE (i.e. no longer living with my parents).

Is lust a kind of love?
Either way, love o'erflows.
I don't know how I feel,
But I do know that it's real.
I know my heart is open,
Though my mind is sometimes closed.
I know my heart is beating
With the feelings that I hold.
I don't know what you're thinking,
You don't know who I am.
Are your thoughts unpleasant?
Full of darkness and so pained?
I don't mind, I just don't care -
It's the way we ...

I'm clearly failing in my attempts to do everything and be everything for all people at all times. I need to be more focused, and I am am working on that. In the meantime, what can I do to create more time? Any suggestions?
All ideas gratefully received!
Thanks!

This week just gone I've let down five people, as well as myself. I'm atoning and making amends next week. Have made it up to two people so far, with concrete plans for two more, so I'm getting there.
The reason? Poor time management. It's just hard to go from working at home on my own projects to full-time studying, at the same time as my social calendar has ...

The minutes seems like hours
As I try to get back to you.
Days seems like months,
As you battle through.
And the days seem like nights -
So dark and so cold -
Mind is willing, body weak,
We feel so young; we're getting old.
But we're winning our wars,
We'll be re-united still.
The hunger that I've felt,
I always will.

Networking, by which I mean, socialising with new people
I've been doing a lot of, uh, networking recently. (Does it count as networking if you have fun and meet interesting people in unstructured environments? Of course!) It's really quite excellent. Mostly facilitated by going to university and the power of the interweb. (Facebook is like a mashup of the two of these).
Benefits of being a student, cool stuff for ...

The Mongolian Barbeque is an excellent place for fussy eaters like myself, as you get to choose exactly what you're eating, in what quantities and with what seasonings. Of course, vegetarian/vegan options too.
It was extraordinairily quiet there today (nobody else there!)
It's very reasonably priced too - £6-7 for large main dish. There's also an all you can eat buffet option, range of desserts and sides, in case you ...
